Known to the Indians as "Standing Stone." Site of the Indian Battle around which the story of Forest Rose is based. Christopher Bist passed beneath its shadow in 1751 and John Leith had a Trading Post at its base in 1773. The movie "Green Grass of Wyoming" was filmed here.
