Spying On An Amazing Guitarist
There is something magical about watching a great player in a non performance, almost peephole perspective. No ego, just the player and their instrument.

Weird Faces Make You Play Better
Im not sure if its compulsory that you have to pull this facial expression when tapping classical music on a double neck guitar but this guy sure seems to think it is :)

Steve Vai - Make Your Jams 'Interactive'
I see far to many players who dont get what it is to 'jam'. This is unfortunate because its one of the most enjoyable part of playing the guitar.
What I love about this video that it very literally shows you what an enjoyable thing it is to 'interact' with other players. You dont have to go to the extent of what you see at 4:50mins, the point Im making is to listen to what your mate is playing and interact. Treat you jam as a conversation and your jams will be more enjoyable than you ever thought possible.

So this here fella Jack Thammarat was winner Guitar Idol for 2009 (which I believe is an international competition based in UK... any more info anyone?)
Great soulful Satriani'esk playing, some people oddly consider a flaw. My thought has always been who cares if you wear influences on your sleeve, as long as you do it well that's all that matters!

Blues... with a twist
If you type 'acoustic guitar' into Youtube the top two places are taken by percussion and tapping maestro Andy McKee. The man is a big part of the rising popularity of the style over the last year or two.
Personally I love the style, possibly my only gripe is that the songs you hear using the technique usually all have a very similar folky or new age vibe to them. It made me think, surely someone can push it a bit further and meld the techniques with other styles.
It's with this in mind that the following video really caught my attention, this is a blues using the percussion / tapping guitar style. Cool stuff... nice to see someone opening things up and bit.

Death Metal Guitar Harmonies - Just Beautiful
One of the things that I love about melodic metal that you dont find in any other style is the awesomely arranged guitar harmonies. Busy, frantic and well... just downright impressive.
If you can speak french you might learn a thing or two from the lesson portion of the video, if not just watch closely :) It seems that Frenchies can Metal it up with the best of them!

Guthrie Govan amazing Jam
In this video Guthrie Govan displays his amazing jam improvised jamming skills. Guthrie's slippery, almost fretless sounding phrasing stem largely from his use bends, slides and combination of the two. Great examples at 1:11 and 2:07.
